President Jakaya Kikwete has called on the public to freely air their
views on the new constitution when the Constitutional Review Commission
visits their regions.

He said that the idea behind collecting views on the new constitution is
to ensure that the document benefits all Tanzanians.Mr Kikwete made the
call on Sunday during a public rally in Same District, saying that
contributions from the public would make the new constitution people
friendly.
He said that members of the commission were keen to make sure that all
views were accommodated in the constitution.The commission is currently
collecting views in Kilimanjaro Region, among others.The president noted
that the commission is expected to cover all districts in all regions
in the country to make sure that everyone is reached.
President Kikwete is on a four day working tour of Kilimanjaro Region
and he laid a foundation stone for eight houses for victims of
landslides in Nyamba area in Same District.After laying the foundation
stone, he called on the district’s administration to look for other
places where they can build more safe houses.
Same District Engineer, Mr Vitus Kapinga said the construction of the
houses which cost 150m/- started in September, 2012 and are expected to
be completed in February, 2013.President Kikwete also inaugurated Ginger
factory which cost 348m/- to build and it is expected to employ 300
people.
