Dar es Salaam. Serikali ya Tanzania imesema itahakikisha inaendelea kuimarisha hali ya ulinzi na usalama kwa Watanzania na raia wa kigeni waliopo na wanaoendelea kutembelea hapa nchini kwa ajili ya utekelezaji wa shughuli mbalimbali za binafsi na kimaendeleo ili watu wote waweze kutekeleza majukumu yao na kuishi kwa amani na usalama nchini.
Waziri wa Mambo ya Ndani ya Nchi, Dk Emmanuel Nchimbi alisema hayo jana wakati akizungumza katika kikao baina yake na Ujumbe wa Wawakilishi wa nchi za Umoja wa Ulaya na mabalozi wa nchi hizo hapa nchini kilichofanyika katika Ukumbi wa Mikutano wa wizara hiyo.
Taarifa ya wizara ilisema Nchimbi alisema kwa sasa Serikali kupitia polisi imejiwekea mikakati mbalimbali ya kukabiliana na vitendo vya uhalifu katika Jiji la Dar es Salaam na Tanzania kwa ujumla.
‘‘ Polisi tayari imeanzisha dawati maalumu litakalowahudumia raia wa kigeni ili kuwawezesha kufungua kesi zao kwa urahisi, kuwapo kwa wepesi wa majadiliano na ziweze kushughulikiwa kwa haraka na hatimaye kupatiwa ufumbuzi”, alifafanua Waziri Nchimbi.
Waziri Nchimbi alisema pia katika kusimamia suala la ulinzi na usalama wa raia na mali zao kwa sasa wizara yake itafanya ukaguzi wa kampuni binafsi za ulinzi ili kuangalia na kujiridhisha kama zinakidhi viwango vya ubora vinavyotakiwa.
Kwa upande wake Kiongozi wa Ujumbe wa Wawakilishi wa Nchi za Umoja wa Ulaya hapa nchini, Balozi Filberto Cerani Sebregondi alisema umoja huo utaendelea kushirikiana na Wizara ya Mambo ya Ndani ya Nchi ambapo pia aliishukuru kwa jitihada inayoendelea kuchukua kuhakikisha ulinzi na usalama kwa wageni na raia wa Tanzania unaimarika.
Kwa upande wao mabalozi waliohudhuria kikao hicho waliitaka Serikali na Watanzania kuhakikisha usalama unadumishwa ili kutoathiri taswira ya Tanzania kimataifa na hivyo kuhatarisha uwezekaji na utalii.
Walisema Umoja huo una imani na Serikali kwamba itaimarisha zaidi masuala ya ulinzi na kuhakikisha raia wote wanalindwa kwa haki. CHANZO: MWANANCHI

Mushikiwabo to UN: Enhance civilian protection

By Eugene Kwibuka Rwanda’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation has urged the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) to invest more energy in the prevention of conflicts for better protection of civilians living in conflict-torn areas. Rwanda’s Foreign minister, Louise Mushikiwabo Louise Mushikiwabo made the call during an open debate on the protection of civilians in armed conflict which the UNSC held in New York on Tuesday. “Rwanda’s core message today is that enhancing the protection of civilians in armed conflict requires action before a conflict starts. The proliferation of non-state armed groups makes civilian protection both more urgent, and harder to achieve,” she said.
