Nairobi, Kenya: Jubilee deputy presidential candidate William Ruto has
told off CORD presidential flag bearer Raila Odinga, over sources of his
immense wealth.

This was in an apparent response to Raila who had questioned why Ruto has been branding himself a hustler yet he is wealthy.
“I heard someone recently ask how come Ruto, a son of a peasant made it
in life and now I want to answer him that this is the kind of government
we want to put in place where you don’t have to be a son of so and so
to succeed,” Ruto said on Sunday.
Ruto said the country was on a path of transformation through new
leadership that is inclusive, founded on merit, results-oriented and
focused on the public good.
He said Jubilee is the right vehicle to steer the country forward for
the next five years and beyond since it has the vision and the energy.
“The Jubilee leadership seeks to unleash the full potential of the
Kenyan people because 50 years after independence our country should be
self-reliant,” the former Eldoret North MP added.
He said they were committed to the vision of a prosperous, just, secure
and modern country and will invest in the total implementation of the
Constitution, full execution of Vision 2030, national reconciliation,
unity, peace and stability, and the complete realisation of every
citizen’s aspirations.
