Rais wa zamani wa Afrika Kusini Nelson Mandela amelazwa hospitalini kwa mara nyingine tena akiendelea kusumbuliwa na maradhi ya mapafu.

Taarifa iliyotolewa katika tovuti ya Ofisi ya Rais nchini humo imebainisha kuwa kiongozi huyo amefikishwa hospitalini mjini Pretoria baada ya hali ya afya yake kudhoofika tena.

Msemaji wa Rais Jacob Zuma, Mac Maharaj amesema Mzee Mandela anashughulikiwa na Madaktari Bingwa ambao wanafanya kila jitihada kuhakikisha kiongozi huyo mzalendo anapata nafuu.

Mapema mwezi April mwaka huu Mandela alikaa hospitalini kwa takribani siku kumi akikabiliwa na maradhi yatokanayo na kuathirika kwa mapafu yake hali inayotajwa kuchangia kuzorotesha afya yake kwa muda mrefu sasa.

Mandela ambaye sasa ana umri wa miaka 94 amekuwa akisumbuliwa na maradhi kwenye miaka ya hivi karibuni ambapo mara kadhaa amefikishwa hospitali kwa matibabu ya maradhi kama hayo ambayo madaktari wanasema yanatokana na umri wake kuwa mkubwa. Via kiswahili.rfi.fr

Mushikiwabo to UN: Enhance civilian protection

By Eugene Kwibuka Rwanda’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation has urged the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) to invest more energy in the prevention of conflicts for better protection of civilians living in conflict-torn areas. Rwanda’s Foreign minister, Louise Mushikiwabo Louise Mushikiwabo made the call during an open debate on the protection of civilians in armed conflict which the UNSC held in New York on Tuesday. “Rwanda’s core message today is that enhancing the protection of civilians in armed conflict requires action before a conflict starts. The proliferation of non-state armed groups makes civilian protection both more urgent, and harder to achieve,” she said.
