Kesi dhidi ya Rais Kenyatta yaahirishwa

Mahama ya kimataifa ya ICC imeakhirisha siku ya kuanza kusikilizwa kwa kesi dhidi ya rais Uhuru Kenyatta hadi tarehe 12 mwezi Novemba mwaka huu.
Hii ni kufuatia ombi la mawakili wa Rais Kenyatta kutaka kesi yao kuahirishwa hadi mwezi Januari mwaka ujao.
Mahakama iliamua kuwa upande wa Kenyatta unahitaji muda wa ziada ili kujiandaa ipasavyo kwa kesi, kwa sababu viongozi wa mashtaka walichelewa kufichua ushahidi walio nao dhidi ya rais Kenyatta.
Kenyatta anakabiliwa na tuhuma za ukiukwaji wa haki za binadmau wakati wa ghasia za baada ya uchaguzi nchini Kenya miaka sita iliyopita, akisemekana kuunga mkono mashambulizi ya kulipiza kisasi dhidi ya watu wa kabila moja.

Mushikiwabo to UN: Enhance civilian protection

By Eugene Kwibuka Rwanda’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation has urged the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) to invest more energy in the prevention of conflicts for better protection of civilians living in conflict-torn areas. Rwanda’s Foreign minister, Louise Mushikiwabo Louise Mushikiwabo made the call during an open debate on the protection of civilians in armed conflict which the UNSC held in New York on Tuesday. “Rwanda’s core message today is that enhancing the protection of civilians in armed conflict requires action before a conflict starts. The proliferation of non-state armed groups makes civilian protection both more urgent, and harder to achieve,” she said.
