PRESIDENT JAKAYA KIKWETE HAS CONGRATULATED MADAME ANGELA MERKEL, THE
CHANCELLOR OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF GERMANY, FOLLOWING HER RE-ELECTION
DURING ELECTIONS HELD ON THE 22ND OF SEPTEMBER 2013.

In his message, President Kikwete said the impressive election results
indicated trust and support the Germans had in their leader.
“I am delighted to learn of your re-election as Chancellor of the
Federal Republic of Germany in the elections held in your country on
22nd September 2013,” he said in a statement issued by the Directorate
of Communications of State House, adding:
“In this connection, allow me on behalf of the Government and the People
of the United Republic of Tanzania and indeed on my own behalf to
congratulate you on the historic third-in-a-row victory.”
The President said the reelection to the post signify not only the trust
that German has placed in her and her party, but also indicated a
clear-cut support in her efforts to bring Germany and the entire Europe
out of a deep and complicated economic crisiswhich called for her
personal strength and vision.
