Bindi Irwin, 17, looks confident at DWTS rehearsal... but admits doing the show is 'more terrifying than jumping on top of a crocodile'

She's been gearing up for the forthcoming season of Dancing With The Stars.
And while Bindi Irwin looked confident at her rehearsal on Thursday, the 17-year-old Australian TV personality recently admitted she is full of nerves about doing the show.
'This is going to be more terrifying than jumping on top of a crocodile,' the daughter of the late Steve Irwin (The Crocodile Hunter) told People.

'Crocodiles, they are very special because they are modern-day dinosaurs. But I've kind of worked with them my whole life, whereas I've never danced before in my life.'
Still, Bindi is extremely excited for her opportunity to be on the 21st season of ABC's dancing competition series.
'I'm used to jumping on top of crocodiles and holding them down to put trackers on them,' the TV personality told People.
'Now, I'm about to be on a dance floor in the middle of a concrete jungle trying my luck and doing the best I possibly can. I'm excited.'

Meanwhile, Bindi was spotted wearing a khaki blouse, skinny jeans, and matching sneakers as she attended DWTS rehearsal in Los Angeles on Thursday.
She was seen waving at onlookers while carrying orange heels in her hand.
The Australian-born wildlife ambassador recently explained why she's been adamant about sticking to her khaki wardrobe.
'We always say khaki is an attitude,' she previously told Good Morning America. 'You can't climb trees that well in a dress!'

The teen, who turned 17 last month, has other big developments in her life as she publicly revealed she is dating 'someone special,' 18-year-old wakeboarder Chandler Powell.
Bindi's father Steve was killed at age 44 by an eight-foot stingray in 2006 while filming an Ocean's Deadliest documentary in north Queensland.
Bindi has since continued her father's conservation work at Australia Zoo in Queensland, where both she and younger brother Robert have dedicated their lives to being 'Wildlife Warriors.'
She has also co-created a book series, Bindi Wildlife Adventures, and has starred in two films and various television shows.

Mushikiwabo to UN: Enhance civilian protection

By Eugene Kwibuka Rwanda’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation has urged the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) to invest more energy in the prevention of conflicts for better protection of civilians living in conflict-torn areas. Rwanda’s Foreign minister, Louise Mushikiwabo Louise Mushikiwabo made the call during an open debate on the protection of civilians in armed conflict which the UNSC held in New York on Tuesday. “Rwanda’s core message today is that enhancing the protection of civilians in armed conflict requires action before a conflict starts. The proliferation of non-state armed groups makes civilian protection both more urgent, and harder to achieve,” she said. For better protection of civilians in armed-conflict areas, the minister emphasised the need to increase investments in professionalising the military and police forces through adequate training. “Only when the leadership of armed forces shares the international...

View Photo Gallery — Chuck Brown dies at 75: The “godfather of go-go” has died By Chris Richards, Updated: Wednesday, May 16, 4:42 PM Chuck Brown, the gravelly voiced bandleader who capitalized on funk’s percussive pulse to create go-go, the genre of music that has soundtracked life in black Washington for more than three decades, died May 16 at the Johns Hopkins University hospital in Baltimore. He was 75. The death, from complications from sepsis, was confirmed by his manager, Tom Goldfogle. Mr. Brown had been hospitalized for pneumonia. Known as the “Godfather of Go-Go,” the performer, singer, guitarist and songwriter developed his commanding brand of funk in the mid-1970s to compete with the dominance of disco. Like a DJ blending records, Mr. Brown used nonstop percussion to stitch songs together and keep the crowd on the dance floor, resulting in marathon performances that went deep into the night. Mr. Brown said the style got its name because “the music j...
