Merkel akabiliwa na changamoto uchaguzi NRW

Chama cha kansela Angela Merkel cha CDU kinakabiliwa na kipigo katika uchaguzi wa jimbo lenye wakaazi wengi nchini Ujerumani, la North Rhine Westphalia Jumapili (13.05.2012).
Uchaguzi huo ambao umeitishwa na mapema unaweza kutoa msukumo kwa mahasimu wakubwa kansela wakati huu wa kuelekea katika uchaguzi wa kitaifa mwaka 2013.
Wiki moja baada ya wapiga kura nchini Ugiriki na Ufaransa kukataa sera za kubana matumizi, raia wa jimbo la North Rhine Westphalia (NRW) huenda wakawaadhibu wahafidhina ambao wamekuwa wakipigia upatu sera za kubana matumizi.

Kiasi ya wapiga kura milioni 13.2 , ikiwa ni sehemu ya tano ya wapiga kura wote kitaifa , wanachagua bunge jipya la jimbo, katika jimbo hilo la magharibi ya Ujerumani ambalo lina viwanda vingi.
NRW ushawishi kitaifa
Jimbo hilo kihistoria linanafasi kubwa katika siasa za shirikisho, ambapo mwaka 2005 , chama cha kansela wa wakati huo Gerhard Schroeder kilipoteza uchaguzi na kumlazimisha kuitisha uchaguzi wa shirikisho wa mapema na ndipo kansela Angela Merkel akaingia madarakani.
Chama cha kihafidhina cha kansela Angela Merkel cha Christian Democratic Union, CDU, kinapambana kukamata jimbo hilo kutoka kwa muungano unaoundwa na vyama vya mrengo wa shoto vya Social Democratic SPD na kile cha kijani.
Uchunguzi wa maoni
Licha ya uchunguzi wa maoni ya wapiga kura kuwa unaonyesha mara kwa mara kuwa chama cha Merkel kinaungwa mkono na wapiga kura wengi kwa msimamo wake wa kubana matumzi katika bara la Ulaya , chama cha CDU kiko nyuma ya SPD kwa alama sita hadi saba katika maoni ya wapiga kura katika jimbo la NRW.

Mushikiwabo to UN: Enhance civilian protection

By Eugene Kwibuka Rwanda’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation has urged the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) to invest more energy in the prevention of conflicts for better protection of civilians living in conflict-torn areas. Rwanda’s Foreign minister, Louise Mushikiwabo Louise Mushikiwabo made the call during an open debate on the protection of civilians in armed conflict which the UNSC held in New York on Tuesday. “Rwanda’s core message today is that enhancing the protection of civilians in armed conflict requires action before a conflict starts. The proliferation of non-state armed groups makes civilian protection both more urgent, and harder to achieve,” she said.
