Kesi ya Viongozi Chadema yasogezwa mbele

Hakimu Mkazi Mkuu, Wilbard Mashauri anatarajia kutoa uamuzi katika kesi inayowakabili viongozi 9 wa Chadema, July  10,2018 kama ajitoe kusikiliza kesi hiyo ama lah.
Hatua hiyo inatokana na viongozi akiwemo Mwenyekiti Freeman Mbowe kuwasilisha hoja za kutaka Hakimu huyo ajitoe kwa sababu hawana imani naye.
Miongini mwa hoja ya Mbowe amedai ni adhabu tosha kwa upande wao kuripoti kituo cha Polisi cha Kati kila Ijumaa.

"Kwa miezi 3 kila siku ya Ijumaa tunakwenda kuripoti hiyo ni adhabu tosha ukizingatia sisi ni viongozi wa umma,"amedai.
Amedai kuwa kundi lao wote ni viongozi na wanatokea sehemu mbalimbali na wanamajukumu katika maeneo wanayitokea.
Pia amedai kuwa wanakosa haki za msingi kwa sababu mawakili wao wamekuwa wakipingwa wazi wazi pindi wanapowasilisha pingamizi zao.
Akifafanua zaidi, Mbowe alidai mwenendo wa hakimu wa kutokuthamini haki za msingi za watuhumiwa, kwamba aliuguliwa na kufiwa lakini hakuruhusiwa ombi la kumaliza msiba aliamriwa kurudi kusikiliza kesi na aliacha kumaliza msiba, anaonyesha ukali na hasira mawakili wa utetezi  wanapowasilisha hoja zao.  
Kutokana na hoja hizo, Hakimu Mashauri ameahirisha kesi hiyo hadi July 5,2018 ili kutoa hatma yake kama aendelee kusikiliza kesi hiyo ama lah.
Mbali na Mbowe, washtakiwa wengine ni Katibu Mkuu wa Chadema, Dk. Vincent Mashinji, Mbunge wa Iringa Mjini Peter Msigwa, Naibu Katibu Mkuu Zanzibar Salum Mwalimu na Naibu katibu Mkuu bara na Mbunge wa Kibamba, John Mnyika.
Pia wengine ni Mbunge wa Tarime Vijijini, John Heche, Mbunge wa Kawe Halima Mdee,   Mbunge wa Bunda, Esther Bulaya na Mbunge wa Tarime mjini, Esther Matiko.
Inadaiwa kuwa washitakiwa walitenda makosa hayo Februari 16, mwaka huu katika maeneo ya Viwanja vya Buibui, Mwananyamala na  barabara ya Kawawa Kinondoni Mkwajuni.
Wanadaiwa kuwa Februari 16,mwaka huu katika barabara ya Kawawa Kinondoni Mkwajuni washitakiwa hao wakiwa na wenzao 12 ambao hawapo mahakamani walikiuka tamko la kuwataka kutawanyika la Mrakibu Mwandamizi wa Polisi, Gerald Ngiichi kwa kugoma kutawanyika na kupelekea uvunjifu wa amani.
Inadaiwa kitendo cha kugoma  kulisababisha hofu iliyochangia  kifo cha Mwanafunzi wa Chuo cha Taifa cha Usafirishaji (NIT), Akwilina Akwiline na majeruhi kwa askari wawili ambao ni  H.7856 PC Fikiri na E.6976 CPL Rahim Msangi.

Mushikiwabo to UN: Enhance civilian protection

By Eugene Kwibuka Rwanda’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation has urged the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) to invest more energy in the prevention of conflicts for better protection of civilians living in conflict-torn areas. Rwanda’s Foreign minister, Louise Mushikiwabo Louise Mushikiwabo made the call during an open debate on the protection of civilians in armed conflict which the UNSC held in New York on Tuesday. “Rwanda’s core message today is that enhancing the protection of civilians in armed conflict requires action before a conflict starts. The proliferation of non-state armed groups makes civilian protection both more urgent, and harder to achieve,” she said.
