Warioba atunukiwa nishani iliyotukuka.

Aliyekuwa Mwenyekiti wa Tume ya Mabadiliko ya Katiba, Jaji Joseph Warioba juzi usiku alikuwa miongoni mwa viongozi na watu mashuhuri waliotunukiwa nishani na Rais Jakaya Kikwete, Ikulu jijini Dar es Salaam.
Katika maelezo ya kutoa nishani ya kumbukumbu ya miaka 50 ya Muungano daraja la kwanza, ilielezwa kuwa Jaji Warioba, aliyewahi kuwa Waziri Mkuu wa Jamhuri ya Muungano wa Tanzania aliuenzi na bado anauenzi Muungano huo.
"Katika kipindi chako, pamoja na nyadhifa nyingine, ulikuwa Waziri Mkuu na Makamu wa kwanza wa Rais wa Jamhuri ya Muungano wa Tanzani...katika kipindi hicho na hadi sasa umeendelea kuwa mwaminifu, umeutunza, umeulinda na umeuenzi Muungano," ilisema sehemu ya taarifa ya kutoa nishani.
Hivi karibuni, Jaji Warioba amekuwa akishambuliwa na baadhi ya Wajumbe wa Bunge la Maalumu la Katiba, pia baadhi ya wana CCM kutokana na Rasimu ya Pili ya Katiba Mpya iliyoandaliwa na Tume ya Mabadiliko ya Katiba aliyoiongoza, kupendekeza muundo wa Muungano wa Serikali tatu.
Hata hivyo, upande mwingine wajumbe wanaojitambulisha kama Umoja wa Katiba ya Wananchi (Ukawa) wamekuwa wakiunga mkono mapendekezo ya rasimu hiyo.
Mbali na Jaji Warioba, wengine waliopewa nishani katika daraja hilo ni Aboud Jumbe Mwinyi aliyekuwa Rais wa Pili wa Zanzibar, Aman Karume, John Malecela, Cleopa Msuya na Dk Salmin Amour Juma.
Wengine ni Omar Ali Juma na Idrissa Abdul Wakil, ambao sasa ni marehemu.
Walioanza kupata tuzo na nishani hizo ni waasisi wa Muungano wa Tanzania, Mwalimu Julius Nyerere na Abeid Karume(wote ni marehemu) na walioendeleza ambao ni Ali Hassan Mwinyi na Benjamin Mkapa.
Wengine waliopewa tuzo ni pamoja na viongozi wa majeshi ya ulinzi na usalama akiwemo Mkuu wa Jenshi la Wananchi (JWTZ), Jenerali Davis Mwamunyange na Mkuu wa Jeshi la Polisi, IGP Ernest Mangu. Wakuu wa JWTZ wastaafu pia walikumbukwa akiwemo, Jenerali Mirisho Sarakikya, Jenerali David Musuguri.
Katika nishani ya kumbukumbu ya miaka 50 ya Muungano daraja la nne lilikuwa na Mama Maria Nyerere na Mama Fatma Karume, Bendi ya Msondo Ngoma pia ilipewa tuzo kwa kuuenzi Muungano.Mwenyekiti Mtendaji wa Kampuni za IPP, Reginald Mengi alipewa tuzo maalumu akiwa raia wa Tanzania aliyetoa mchango muhimu katika huduma za jamii.
Wasifu
Mwenyewe Joseph Warioba aliingia serikalini mwaka 1966, akiwa mwanasheria wa mji wa Dar er Salaam, nafasi aliyoitumikia kwa muda wa miaka miwili, kisha kuhamia kuwa mwanasheria wa Baraza la Jiji mpaka mwaka 1970.
Kuanzia mwaka 1976 mpaka 1983 Warioba alitumikia taifa kwa wadhifa wa Mwanasheria Mkuu wa Serikali.
Warioba pia aliwahi kuwa Waziri wa Sheria katika awamu ya kwanza iliyokuwa ikiongozwa na Mwalimu Julius Nyerere.
Mwaka 1984 aliteuliwa kuwa Waziri Mkuu na Makamu wa Kwanza wa Rais, nafasi aliyoitumikia hadi mwaka 1990.
Mwaka 1996 Rais Benjamin Mkapa alimteua kuongoza tume ya kupambana na rushwa.
Mwaka 2007 alioongoza jopo la waangalizi kutoka nchi za Jumuiya ya Madola katika uangalizi wa uchaguzi mkuu wa Nigeria.
Mwaka 2012 Rais wa awamu ya nne alimteua Warioba kuongoza Tume ya Mabadiliko ya Katiba.

Mushikiwabo to UN: Enhance civilian protection
